Not every translation needs to be redone. Some need a second pair of eyes from a native speaker who understands the subject matter and can fix what machine translation or a non-specialist translator got wrong.
Proofreading and editing translation is a service with a specific use case: you have an existing translation, and you suspect or know that it contains errors, awkward phrasing, or inconsistencies. This might be because it was machine-translated, because it was done by someone whose native language was not the target language, or because it was produced some time ago and the terminology or style is now out of date. We review existing translations for: accuracy (does the translation reflect what the source says), consistency (is terminology used consistently throughout), fluency (does it read naturally in the target language), and register (is the formality level appropriate for the document type and audience). We provide a marked-up version showing all changes made and a brief note on any systematic issues found. We do not provide proofreading for translations that were not produced by a human linguist. Machine translation output requires full retranslation, not light editing.
